Merlion, photos and a wlk to the Art Science Museum

The first thing we did was head to the Merlion statue. We took loads of photos, but we ended up waiting in line for ages for someone to give us the photo spot. Once we left the Merlion statue, we decided to walk to the right science museum. It started raining a little, but it was such a scenic route, with lots of old buildings and a bridge. We didn’t take a bicycle, but apparently Ayush can’t ride one, so that’s that. We also had a look around the shopping area of Marina Bay Sands, which was great fun.

Reaching the Art Science Museum

When we got there, we decided to get the sands membership. The cost of the tickets was 21 dollars, but it was SO worth it. Everything was amazing. Here are the photos. The best part was the climbing trail and the whole plane flying thing. Finally, the green crustal thing that was also cool. We also got to control it, haha.

The Red Dot Museum

The Design Museum is pretty cheap, but the only downside is that they rent out the guided tours. You really need to understand the principles behind the very smart designs to get the most out of the small exhibits. They have small paragraphs with text-only explanations. Other than that, I found it really interesting. There are lots of products in a variety of types, including things you wouldn’t even think of. They also gave us a $10 voucher to spend on items there, so we bought three drinks. Iced tea was OK, and we also got Coke and Lemon Sprite.

The Gardens by the Bay

We went in through the south gate and made our way through the Chinese and Indian gardens before ending up at the two domes in the garden: the cloud forest and the flower dome.

The Flyer

We then went to the Singapore Flyer, which is basically a giant Ferris wheel. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. From Sentosa, you could see everything, including another country, the Gardens by the Bay, and Orchard Road.

The Helix Bridge

We then decided to go to the lights and water show at the Mrin by Sails. We decided to go because we thought it would be great to see the F1 track and then the helix bridge. There are so many great photo spots with great views. We saw so many people running on it too. It was really hot and humid inside, but when you went outside it was even hotter and more humid. Even your glasses fogged up. It took us a while to get to the event plaza. When we got there, there was a huge crowd, so we just decided to sit down and eat some food. When it started, it was incredible.

The Gardens by the Bay

We then went to the gardens by the river to see the tree light show. We slept on the floor to get a good view of the trees. Here are some photos of the same.

Problems getting back!

After the light show, we decided to take the MRT back, but we didn’t want to walk because we’d already walked the entire grounds by then. So we took a cab, but the problem with the cab system in Singapore is that they have specific places where they can pick up, so we had to walk there, which also took about 10 minutes.

When we got to the CB, the previous passenger didn’t have cash, so they went to the ATM to get some. It took them five minutes. Finally, we got into the cab.

Finally, we got to the restaurant, which was right next to our house. It was called Hola Mexico. The food was okay, but I felt like it wasn’t authentic. The only good option we had there was the adobo suce.
